Lehigh County Courthouse – reclad

Allentown, Pennsylvania

Prefabricated ACM and Porcelain Tile Panels

Client: Alvin H. Butz

Architect: Ricci Greene Associates

Project Info

The Lehigh County Courthouse had been plagued for years with leaking windows.  The plan was to temporarily board up the windows, remove the existing 4″ thick red granite facade, install new prefabricated ACM and large format porcelain tile panels from the outside, all while maintaining a very actively used and occupied courthouse. The Hex scaffolds were shared by the demo contractor and the prefab exterior wall contractor.  The south elevation received a large addition resulting in a modern highly function new courthouse for the County of Lehigh.
