Merck K1 Cafeteria – reclad

Kenilworth, New Jersey

Prefabricated ACM Cladding

Client: Structure Tone

Architect: Aspen Facade Consulting / Synergetics

Project Info

The Merck Kenilworth campus’ cafeteria had a lead coated copper siding that was failing and needed a refresh.  The design assist team collaborated to create a safety plan that also recouped significant money by recycling the lead coated copper in an environmentally safe process.  A new Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) cladding was designed as a barrier system to go over the new AVB for double the waterproofing protection.  A new roof was also part of the protect and the full team integrated the roofing details with the new fascia, rain gutters, and soffits around the building.
