W-Hotel Hoboken
Hoboken, New Jersey
Prefabricated ACM Panels and Flat-Lock alum shingles
Client: AJD Construction
Architect: Gwathmey Siegel Kaufman Architects
Project Info
The W Hoboken is a 27-story hotel and residential tower containing 225 hotel rooms, 40 residences, retail and event spaces and a basement parking garage. Located on the west shore of the Hudson River in downtown Hoboken, New Jersey, the metal and glass tower establishes a counterpoint to the existing mid-rise, masonry structures that characterize the Hoboken shoreline. The prefabricated ACM panels helped accelerate the building enclosure and had a major impact on the jobsite safety and productivity with the majority of the facade labor and materials being constructed offsite. The flat lock diamond shingles and the lobby ACM were fabricated offsite but installed conventionally.
